Social Studies
At DESS, we prepare our children for the ever-rapid changes that occur in the world's social fabric. This includes moral, community, civic and cultural values to ensure that our DESS children are well-rounded, informed global citizens. It also safeguards accomplishments in the formation of a unique local character and preserves the national heritage of the UAE and the wider world.
Our Social Studies curriculum also deepens the children’s understanding of social, political and economic systems. It improves their comprehension of movements in local and world history and enables them to analyse the relationships between humans and their natural environment. This facilitates the development of a strong appreciation of the importance of relating knowledge of past people, events and civilizations to present and future challenges.
