History

Martin Luther King once stated that 'we are not the makers of history, we are made by it'. At DESC, we believe that the events of the past serves to shape our lives today, and that the study of history is essential for us to be able to understand our past, present and future. It helps to determine our moral character, infuses us with a detailed and informed understanding of how past socieities have operated, and helps us to learn about how future societies will function and flourish. 

Historians also develop crucial life skills. The ability to carefully analyse information, coupled with a brilliant insights into important and diverse cultural heritage both in the UAE and around the world, allows us as historians to find inspiration and learning opportunities in everyday life.
