Social Responsibility

Our staff and students are caring individuals and as a Community we take great pride in supporting those in need both near and far. DESC students take the lead on many initiatives around the College, fundraising in particular. The Sixth Form Fundraising Team are one such group who are passionate about philanthropy and have led many of the events listed below. Similarly, we have a large body of students who volunteer their time to local initiatives such as the ‘Tender Hearts’ and ‘Wanna Read’ campaigns, as well participating in local Service activities such as coaching sports teams and supporting events at DESS.

In association with the Dubai Cares ‘Build a School’ Initiative, DESSC raised over 150,000 AED to build and support a school in Nepal, which opened its doors to pupils in 2017.

The annual Walk for Education is a 3km fundraising walk through the desert which involves all members of the DESC Community. Since its debut in 2018 we have raised over 80,000 AED for various local charities and the Walk has become a much-loved event in the school calendar.
